Miles attempts to make case that he 'can still play'

Needing to play just two more games coming into Tuesday to unintentionally sock it to the Blazers' pocketbooks, Darius Miles stepped onto an NBA floor for the ninth time this season in the Grizzlies' 102-87 loss to the visiting Cavs.

With nine games under his belt, Miles is one game away from reaching the 10 appearances that would put the remaining $18 million of his salary back on Portland's payroll.

Despite blowing an uncontested dunk in the open court, Miles finished with 13 points in 13 minutes on 4-of-6 shooting, proving he's still got something in his tank.

"I've shown the teams that haven't really seen me that I can still play," said Miles, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

No one needed to be reminded that LeBron James can play. After scoring only nine points in the first half, James ignited in the third quarter. James scored 17 points in the third on his way to pulling off his second triple-double of the season, finishing with 30 points along with 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

"I was taking what the defense gave me in the first half,'' James said. "I play the game the right way. I let the game come to me. I took advantage of it in the third quarter.''
